Speaking of Ohio...

President Barack Obama made a visit to my hometown, Lima, today and even though I'm disabled and battling cancer, you couldn't keep me away! Here are some pix. I lost my hair from the chemo, so I have to wear dorky hats wherever I go. Lol. But I made it there to see him in person; and that's what mattered. :-)

Here is a picture taken by Marti Adams that shows the crowd from across the room. I circled us on it. :-) Thanks, Marti!

Finally, here is a portion of the speech President Obama delivered in Lima.

The POTUS Jet...Doing a Little Crowd Surfing in Ohio!? :-D

Ok. POTUS's jet isn't really crowd surfing, but at first glance that's what it looked like to me. Lol. Anyhow this huge crowd for President Obama looks like a very good sign to me in my home state. :-)

Very Cool! VOTE EARLY! :-)

I Need Your Help . . .

I'm hoping President Obama will be re-elected and that the dems will hold their majority in the senate. Ohio (where I live) is a critical state in both situations. Senator Sherrod Brown is in a tight race against Josh Mandel, who has an endless supply of outside corporate financing (thanks to the Supreme Court's ruling on Citizens United). I just read that The National Federation of Independent Business is spending $1 Million to help Mandel.

I'd love to contribute to Senator Sherrod Brown's campaign and to help him retain his seat, but I'm undergoing costly and exhausting cancer treatments right now and I don't have the money or the energy.

Here's where you can help. :) I'm a greeting card artist by trade and I created this design recently: Moving Forward Together. It has a very positive message inside, or there's a post-card version with the design only--left blank for you to write your own message.

So if you'll order some of these cards that offer optimism during a contentious campaign when optimism is sorely needed, I'll contribute all of the proceeds from the sales to Senator Brown's campaign (these cards are ideal to give to family and friends, or for volunteers to give to voters who voted for President Obama in 2008 but may still be undecided about him in this election).

Or, if you don't think you have time to order cards and get them out there, please consider donating here, to Senator Sherrod Brown's campaign directly. And tell him Jolly Politix sent you. :) Oh, and please tweet this to your followers. :) Very gratefully ~JP

Wow! It's Been Awhile!

I see it's been a month since my last post! Time flies when you're dealing with cancer. :( Actually, I've been so preoccupied with treatments and all the aches and pains and exhaustion that accompany the cancer treatments that I just haven't had the energy to post. I've still got several more weeks of treatments to go (maybe even through the end of the year), so I probably won't be able to blog very often yet. But I think last night's debate was surely a good reason to get my butt out of bed and post something. :) So I checked Twitter (particularly #bindersfullofwomen - lol) for a few minutes and found this:

Very direct message. Watch the video.

Slick Willard with His Bain Vulture Capitalism, His Outsourcing, and His Off-Shore Investing

While Mitt Romney 'croons' ...he enables tycoons. God help America if Slick Willard Romney gets elected president, and you can say bye-bye to any chance for the middle class to crawl out of the recession that republicans drove us in to (and are trying their best to prevent us from getting out of). Watch this well-timed ad by the Obama campaign that targets the problem in one fell swoop.

Update (lame 'comeback' from Romney:

Mitt's campaign attempts a similar ad (copycats! they can't even come up with a good idea on their own!). At least it's pleasant to listen to, though. :)

NerdProm 2012!! Hilarious!

President Obama warms up the 'prom' crowd for Jimmy. Lol.

Hey Jimmy, POTUS is a tough act to follow, isn't he?

Let's Stay Together (I'm So In Love With You)

What a perfect way to launch this blog!  Thank you, President Obama, for the love.  :)

I'll be posting jolly political happenings that I think are fun-filled (or wickedly funny) that I want to share with everyone (although more often than not, it will include humor that's geared towards adults).

Lots of laughter in store, so check back often . . . or better yet, hit the 'follow' button.
